Pirate Ship

Can a collection of
mirrors destroy a ship at
sea by concentrating
sunlight? Maybe. But
what if the ship is made
of modular, interlocking
plastic blocks? In order
to answer this question,
Race purchased this
magnificent test subject,
the pirate ship known as
"The Unmeltable."
Pirates are a brutal and evil lot. This foul buccaneer
is wanted for pillaging and looting countless silver
shipments in the Caribbean. Make no mistake; this
fellow would slice your guts with little or no
provocation and he is not worthy of pity.
Securing this massive vessel to the
Solar Death Ray was no easy task.
Eventually the ship was lashed to
the target rack, and the death ray
was turned toward the sun. Before
the sun was focused on the ship,
the masts and sails fell to the
ground; in retrospect, we should
have glued them in place.
As sunlight bathed the deck of the
pirate ship, a member of the crew
cried out:

"Avast! 112 suns off the port bow!"

The crew of The Unmeltable fired
volleys of molten plastic at the death
ray, but to no avail.
The beam of the death ray was like
the unflinching eye of some unholy
kraken, and as it slowly gazed
across the ship it wrought terrible
destruction. The hull became as fluid
as the sea, and stolen plunder
flowed from the ship into Davy
Jones' Locker.

The stench was impressive.
After 15 minutes, this
once formidable pirate
ship had been reduced
to a twisted wreck, and
the Solar Death Ray had
demonstrated its
capabilities as a
maritime weapon*.
