Death Ray has, to a greater or lesser degree, a certain geek-ish
inclination. Most of us enjoy videogames, computer games, and
related humor. Many of us have donated to Child's Play in the past,
and this year Mike put forth the idea of making Solar Death Ray a
"Corporate Sponsor." Solar Death Ray isn't a corporation. We don't
make products... in fact, we destroy them. This donation didn't come
from the depths of some company coffer, it came from our pockets.
I'm not bragging, I'm just giving my generous my friends some
recognition (see below).
But what is Child's Play?
From their website:
"For the past three years, gamers and geeks around the world have
raised nearly a million dollars in toys, games and cash for sick kids
in Children's Hospitals across the globe through a grassroots charity
called Child's Play."
I think it's a noble endeavor, trying to brighten up the day of children
who are sick, maybe get their minds off serious issues and let them
play and be kids, if only in some small way. If you think so too, maybe
you can chip in to Child's Play, too.
