| It had been too long since I used the Solar Death Ray, and I was yearning for some burning. Because the sky was less than ideal, with moderate clouds (see above) diffusing sunlight and reducing Solar Death Ray efficiency, I decided to destroy something nice and easy: a candle. Candles are made to destroy themselves, so I figured this would be the death ray equivalent of beating up a little kid with his own hands (i.e. fun and easy). I drilled a hole in the side of the candle to make it simple to attach to the new target holder. |

| This was a blueberry-scented candle, which soothed my rage when the sun became completely blocked by those damn clouds. Because of those damn clouds, it took a while to kill the candle, but it was better than not melting anything at all. You can see that the white wick escaped the candle unscathed. This might be the first candle in history to be melted with the wick intact. I bet the candle didn't see that coming. |
