Death Rays of the World
Main Page
People frequently ask me for help building their own Solar Death Ray. For liability
purposes, I'm not giving people tips on how to build something fairly
dangerous.
Despite my unhelpfulness, people drive forward and succeed in making their own
death rays. These are some of the Solar Death Rays of the world! If you decide
to build one
be careful, good luck, and I hope it works!
Here is a death ray built by Jonny C.
and his girlfriend. Their SDR has
118 3"x3" mirrors mounted on a 4'x4'
board, with the focal point ~4' from
the board.
Peter from Sweden built this
Solar Death Ray, composed of
247 mirrors, each 2 cm x 2 cm.
Jimmy in New Zealand
built this death ray with
215 mirrors. The focal
point is about a meter
from the board.
Brian and Noah in
Alaska built this death
ray using 224 mirrors,
each 3" x 3", mounted
on a 5' x 5' board. I'm
not so sure I trust these
guys with a death ray,
especially the guy on
the right...
Justin and Ben from Iowa built this death ray,
"Thelma," using 200 mirrors. Notice the
attached fire extinguisher: safety first!
