The ace of spades...
The coolest card in the deck, even if it's a pinochle
deck and there are two aces of every suit. As you
can see, the card is white with black text. The card is
connected to the target holder with some electrical
tape on the back. Once the Solar Death Ray was
activated, the white parts of the card reflect a huge
amount of light. But even though you can't see it in
the photos, the dark text and spade on the card are
absorbing light and getting hot. Smoke started curling
off. The back of the card started to turn brown in
spots corresponding to the hot areas on the face of
the card. Soon the Solar Death Ray burned a hole
through the card. I was hoping the center spade
would be burned out cleanly, leaving the rest of the
card intact, but that didn't happen. It's still pretty cool.
